Ok, in case you're a real user and not a fake, here's your info:
The german championship is called IDM.
You find informations in german here: www.idm.de
You need a license.
Classes: Superbike, Supersport, R6 Cup, 125, Sidecars
One step below the IDM there's a series called Seriensport and Rundstreckenpokal.
You need a license.
Different classes.
Here the homepage: www.seriensport.com
In Germany you find a lot of organizers who offer their own championships on different racetracks.
Some series are national (only german racetracks) some all over europe.
License is not needed
Here you find a very detailed list of organizers: http://www.racing4fun.de/portal.php?mid=2&task=show
Good luck
Horst

Thanks Horst!
Motoracer you could write also in english here and use the translation gadget only for the german answers!
First I suggest to introduce yourself, name and a little bit background. The people here like to see also a picture of you, they prefer a ugly one
Because in Germany bike racer are unbelievable ugly.
Write something about your racing experience, Princes Horst tips are quite helpful, maybe not the IDM Link but the rest of it.
Do you have a bike in Germany or do you have to buy one? Do you prefer 1000ccm or more the small one with 600ccm? Frankfurt is a good location to visit Hockenheimring, Oschersleben or Lausitz.
Enjoy this forum it's quite helpful and despit of the ugly guys those guys are mostly grazy and friendly racer
Cheers
Markus (wow this was article 1000)

Hi Motoracer,
another native English speaker!!!
I am not sure if race events in NZ are generally carried out as club sports or not (they are in Canada, which is where I am from), but for your average person who wants to have fun at the track, in Germany it seems dominated by private event promoters, each with their own series. The population density here (perhaps in Europe in general) is so high that this can be supported.
Minus: rather expensive
Plus: unbelievable tracks (esp. compared to my half-frozen homeland), no club membership or licence required
Don't worry about your lack of German, it will come with time ... and effort
just read lots of motorcycle magazines, watch TV, etc
PS: this forum is all the proof you need that the stereotype of the humourless Germans is total BS
Now be a good lad and post a photo and make a quick introduction in the ancient and revered thread ~~Hackfressengalerie~~ (mug shot album) in the Quasselecke.
cheers, eh?

Humourless Germans
Haha last time the English Ladys were quite impressed about the German humour
And it isn't true that everybody in Germany is drinking Äppelwein, only the grazy Frankfurter do it, mostly the people here drink beer and the racing guys korea
But this is a other story

Hey that´s bullshit!
Not only the Frankfurter driking Äbbelwoi. Aschaffenburger and the rest of the guys in the Aschaffenburger area do it also and we are Bavarian people
But try 1st the good German beer before Korea or some other stuff. German beer is probably the best eatables you can try!
I hope you will find your favorite race series in Germany...
